I Was Unbecoming Then follows a competitive high school choir in 2006 and its secrets. Through confessional, pseudo stand-up comedy sets, and original, genre-bending choral music, twelve girls grapple with changing hormones and harmonies.

Lyndsey Bourne is a queer, Canadian playwright and doula working with The Doula Project and Planned Parenthood. Her plays have been developed with The Tank, Dixon Place, The Joust Theatre Company, The Barn Arts Collective, Brooklyn College, Playwrights Horizons Downtown and ANT Fest at Ars Nova. Lyndsey is an assistant playwriting teacher at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School and is currently an MFA candidate at Brooklyn College where she studies playwriting with Mac Wellman and Erin Courtney.

Sam Kaseta is a composer and vocalist living and working in New York City. After graduating Princeton cum laude with a BA in Music and certificates in German and Theater, Sam recently obtained her Masters in Music degree from NYU Steinhardt, where she studied concert composition with Caroline Shaw and Joan La Barbara. She has spent the past few years as a freelance composer, music director, and sound designer. Some of the theaters she has worked with include Soho Rep., Ars Nova, The Dramatists’ Guild, New Georges, Everyday Inferno, and Prospect Theater Company. She is also a music curator at The Tank NYC, where she is a frequent contributor to its queer cabaret series Tankaret. Sam also performs as her drag king alter ego Sam Bam Thankyoumaam.

Serena Berman is a performer, playwright, and producer. Favorite credits include Diaspora (Gym at Judson), Murder at the Gates (Steven Sater), Set It Up (Netflix), and the voice of Lucy on Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales (ABC). She is a member of Ars Nova's Play Group, and her writing has been produced and developed at Williamstown Theater Festival, Samuel French OOB Festival, Less Than Rent, and more. Evie Brandford-Altsher is a recent graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at Playwrights Horizons Theater School and Stonestreet Studios. She has helped to develop and devise many new works for both screen and stage. ChiWen Chang is a theatre artist based in New York and is so excited to be working on this gem of a show again! The choirgirl dreams are real. Siena D’Addario is an NYC-based actor who graduated with a BFA from NYU Tisch (Playwrights Horizons Theater School). She also studied classical acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England. Recent theatre credits include: Sisters on the Ground (World Premiere Production) by Max Posner, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll (Clubbed Thumb), The Seagull as Masha (Access Theater). Julia Greer is an actor and writer. Lizzie Hagstedt just returned from performing in the world premiere musical August Rush at the Paramount Theatre in Chicago, and will next appear in Annie Get Your Gun at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor. Lizzy Jarrett peaked in high school when she was the Soprano section leader two years in a row with San Marino Chamber Choir. More recently she was seen in Twelfth Night with Shakespeare in the 'Burg. Anna Clare Kerr is a NYC based actor & artist. Melissa Mahoney is a founding member of Joust.  She has played title roles in three critically acclaimed productions at the Atlantic Theater Company, as well as at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, Ars Nova, The Bushwick Starr, Dixon Place, and in theaters across the United States.  She is also a solo performer (Melissa Mahoney is a Robot) and a voice actor for the Night Vale Presents fictional podcast It Makes a Sound.  For more info, visit www.melissamahoney.me.
